Savings Bank of Danbury Foundation awards $301,350 to 113 Agencies throughout Connecticut

DANBURY, CT, ISSUED May 14, 2024…The Savings Bank of Danbury Foundation has awarded a total of $301,350.00 to 113 different non-profit agencies throughout Connecticut as part of an annual tradition first established in 2004. The 2023 grants total represents an increase of 8 percent over grants awarded in 2022.

In 2004, the Savings Bank of Danbury Foundation was established to support local non-profit agencies that reflect the core values of the Bank. The Foundation provides grants to support a wide range of initiatives and programs in the areas of Affordable Housing, Arts & Culture, Community Services & Economic Development, Education, and Health & Human Services. Since its establishment, the Foundation has awarded more than $3 million to organizations making a positive difference in our communities.

The Savings Bank of Danbury Foundation (SBD Foundation) is administered by a committee of Savings Bank of Danbury Corporators, Directors, and Bank Officers. They encourage non-profit organizations in their communities to apply for financial grants; in reviewing applicants, they are in awe of all that these organizations do to improve the quality of life in the communities they serve.

Savings Bank of Danbury recognizes that as a community bank, it is important for them to do more than provide quality banking services; they also strive to be good neighbors and citizens and give back to the communities they serve.

“We are proud of our Foundation and excited to be able to exceed our previous grant totals every year,” stated Martin G. Morgado, President and CEO of Savings Bank of Danbury. “At Savings Bank of Danbury we have always put a strong emphasis on community service, team building and cultural activities that promote a positive work environment inside and outside of the Bank. Our employees are active volunteering, mentoring and participating in our communities and we are all pleased to support the outstanding difference these non-profit organizations make every day.”
